Planning news in and around Radstock this week

Local planning news this week includes:

In Clandown, at the parking area by Chapel Court, on Chapel Road, they have applied to lift the crown on a Sycamore and an Ash tree and also fell an Ash at the site. Planning Portal Reference: PP-09693250

In Midsomer Norton a planning application is in for the land at parcel number 3511, Silver Street, ( 21/01656/OUT) to build nine homes. A previous planning application for this area was withdrawn in October 2020. The application has been put in by Greatworth Property Managers Ltd and as of April 14 there are no further details, but they will be under reference PP-09710202 on the planning portal when they are supplied.

Over in Peasedown, the local croquet club, on Whitebrook Lane, has applied to discharge one of the conditions on its application to relocate its existing club house and build a new one. It has applied to discharge condition 3 (contaminated land risk assessment ) of application 20/03162/FUL. It wants to install a bio-digester waste water treatment system and a rain collection system, and also put a small low level advertising board . Planning Portal Reference: PP-08776120v2.

In Shoscombe, planning officers are considering an application by St Julian's Farm, on St Julian's Road (21/01678/ADCOU) for a change of use from an agricultural building into a house (Use Class C3).

In Hallatrow, Lea Meadow House, on the Wells Road, has put in an application to make alterations to build rear ground floor orangery and put in utility extensions to the existing detached house. They also want to build two car parking spaces to the side of the house. Reference on the planning portal Reference: PP-09698004.

Planning decisions made this week by B&NES include:

Approved, the non material amendment on an application by Alveston on Maynard Terrace, in Clutton. Under application 20/04410/FUL, they are building a single storey front, rear and side extension and are widening the vehicle access.

At Water Meadows, Mill Hill, in Wellow, ( 21/01299/COND) planners have agreed to discharge condition 2 concerning an application to build ( Reference 19/01843/FUL ) a single and two storey extension at the property.

In Timsbury planners have also discharged a condition on the conversion of St John's House, on North Road, in Timsbury into a three bed home and a hair salon. Details under application 19/03290/FUL.

And an application by Broadlands School, on St Francis Road, in Keynsham, to install solar panels on the roofs of three buildings at the school has been withdrawn. Planning Portal Reference: PP-09543236
