Eleven year old Mason Messenger is very clear about his motivation for being at the local boxing and fitness club.

Mason, who has been boxing for over a year told Nub News: " It keeps me healthy."

He is dedicated in his weekly training sessions at the local boxing club - but you don't have to be a fan of the sport to make the most of what it can offer. It is open to all and the head coach is sure it could be just the thing to beat coronavirus - building up body strength but also confidence.

Trainer Sean Jenkins said: " What better way to get rid of those lockdown covid blues. Give me a call if you want to get back to some normality. Kick start your mental well being and get yourself back in shape. Its time to look after yourself. Bring some positivism back into your life."

You can contact Sean directly on 07727 041615. He is based at the Norton Radstock Amateur Boxing Club BA3 3AN, where there is free parking.

As for Mason, Sean said: " He is making good progress and he will hopefully be boxing for the club pretty soon. Hopefully next year we will get him his skills bouts and we will take it from there.

" Mason is a fine example of kids not wanting to stay in the house all the time and just play on their electronic gadgets. He is always keen ; he is here every week."
