Some wonderful photos have been posted showing some of the amazing engineering work on Radstock's County Bridge which was rebuilt in 1981 as part of the Midsomer Norton flood relief scheme.

It was a huge project which involved lots of tunnels and this, a structure under the bridge where the Bike It shop now stands.

Engineers were here in the centre of Radstock in June 1981 and drew quite a crowd.

It was a fascinating engineering feat and excited a lot of comments from people who Radstock who recognised relatives in the crowds.

Thank you Tim Woodward for the photos.
