New businesses, renewed hope

In his latest column for Radstock Nub News the Mayor writes:

It is heartening to see commercial activity in Radstock increasing in these days of uncertainty.

An example is the Radstock hotel, that iconic edifice which guards the Northern approach and which, in former years was a centre of social activity in the town. This year new management arrived in the person of Richard Nante and his team. Richard has plans not only to improve the premises but to provide much needed leisure facilities for young people- skittles and soft drinks- in a large room away from the throng of the bar. A large garden will be available during fine weather.

It is good to learn also that Coombe End Fish Bar will be continuing its excellent service under new management. There is a mouth-watering new menu and judging by the comments on the website, a visit there will be most rewarding.

Radstock has always boasted a good compliment of hairdressers and beauticians. With the retirement of the highly respected Jean Meredith, we now welcome two new businesses: Textür (hair dressing) and the Beauty Lounge (pedicures, nails, eye lashes). We wish them every success in their enterprises.

For anyone living in or near the Clandown area, there is an opportunity to try your hand at being a councillor. The work is voluntary but if you care about Radstock this might be the time to contribute to its governance.
