The long running application to build 81 homes on the former factory site, St Peter's continues, with an application to discharge two conditions surrounding application: 20/00780/COND.

The developers have investigated the site, checking whether it has any historical importance after seeing a map from 1867 of the Waldergrave Estate in the Manor of Radstock, which showed lime kilns on the land. A draw kiln and tunnels have now been excavated at the land at Cobblers Way, in Westfield.

Back in 2012 an application to build 58 homes along with a 65 bed care home and an additional 57 care units also for the elderly was refused.
