Another planning application has been put in for the former Radstock Infants school up off the Old Bath Road.

Back in 2007 an application was made to build 14 homes on the land which was vacant ... That was refused.

Now B&NES planners have an application to build 17 homes on the site under reference 20/02253/FUL.

The Former Radstock County Infant School as it is formally known, was cleared back in 2005 and has been empty since, with locals complaining that it has attracted the attention of fly tippers.

Now an application is being considered under Planning Portal Reference Number PP-08823464 by Hawkfield Homes (west) Ltd.

They want to demolish the existing vacant school buildings and build 17 homes along with access onto the road, parking and landscaping.

The application was considered by Radstock Town Council on June 20 at their planning meeting, and councillors supported the new design.

Each three bedroomed house on the site has been allocated two parking spaces, while each two bedroomed house has one space, with two further spaces allocated for visitors.

The whole site is 3540.00 square metres.
