Community organisations in and around Radstock that are taking action to tackle the climate and nature emergency are being asked to share their activities in a new online survey.

The survey, which runs until 10 February, has been put together by Bath & North East Somerset Council to map projects and initiatives that are taking place across the area to respond to the climate and ecological crisis.

The council wants people to tell them about their activities, which might include sustainable travel, education, renewable energy or local food projects. The results of the survey will help the council to understand how they can help community organisations to collaborate, support each other and share skills.

In March 2019, the council declared a climate emergency and recognised its key leadership role in enabling the community to take action.

Councillor Sarah Warren, joint cabinet member for Climate Emergency, said: "As a district, we are aiming to be carbon-neutral by 2030, but we cannot achieve this without continued action from our communities. Many local organisations are involved in tackling the climate and ecological crisis, either as their main mission or as an indirect result of their main activities. We want to capture these valuable contributions to our carbon neutral aim.

"We're interested to hear from community groups, charities, social enterprises, parish and town councils and faith organisations about their initiatives. We want to support and understand what would help them thrive going forward so please fill in the survey.

The survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete and can be found under the red button.
