Hours of work with knitted flowers collected around Radstock and Zoom calls to make sure everyone was happy - this was a knitting project unlike any other.

But now, thanks to the local fire brigade, the iconic wheel in Radstock has been yarn bombed in a spectacular way.

The work of Radstock knitters, the artwork was delivered to the centre of the town by Jennifer Prowse and Margaret Woodward.

The knitting friends were thrilled to see their and other knitters handiwork hoisted up, with it making even more of an impact against the clear blue skies.

So what next for this band of inventive knitters?

They told Nub News - watch this space - perhaps it will be something amazing for Christmas time in Radstock?

For now, for the thousands who drive will pass the wheel every day, it is reminder that in the time of coronavirus, a group of friends made something magical to say a big thank you to the NHS.
