A pub in Welton has closed due to 'several' positive coronavirus tests.

The pub was contacted by the Track and Trace system and closed this morning (August 20).

It is understood that those who tested positive did go on to several other Midsomer Norton pubs, although no one has officially confirmed that.

The pub involved is The Dolphin Inn in Welton which in the last hour posted on its social site:

"Due to the understanding that several local people have tested positive for COVID-19 we have taken the decision to close The Dolphin Inn until further notice. The safety of our staff and customers is our top priority.

We look forward to seeing you all again soon."

The pub is understood by Nub News to be now undergoing a thorough deep clean.

We will update the story when we know more.
