Earlier this week Jacob Rees Mogg was in Radstock campaigning

The Conservative Jacob Rees Mogg has held the seat of North East Somerset with 28,360 votes, an increased majority on the last election's result with a share of 50.4 per cent of the vote. Labour's Mark Huband came second with 13,631 votes and Nick Coates for the Liberal Democrats in third place with 12,422 votes. The Green's Fay Whitfield won 1,423 votes, while Shaun Hughes, an Independent got 472 votes. The turnout was 76.4 per cent, up 0.7 per cent on the last election.

Mr Rees Mogg was first elected in 2010.

A lady with a big heart helped save a deer which had been hit at an accident black spot near Radstock - but she has yet to come forward to be praised.

At that stage the deer was just sat in the middle of the road, holding its head up but was breathing heavily. It didn't look as though it was going to die, but it also didn't look as if it was going to get up.

Looking towards Fortescue Road from Frome Road

An ongoing brick battle in Radstock seems to have been resolved the installation of a walkway alongside a development in the town started four years ago. A walkway was supposed to be included when Linden Homes built along flats and units along Frome Road. Radco owns a small strip of land in Fortescue Road and were refusing access to put a pathway on their land. Local campaigner Robert Brailsford has now noticed that the wall preventing the walk through has now gone. He said: "This has been going on for at least four years now. All of a sudden this morning I notice the wall has been removed." Linden Homes has been approached for a comment but has yet to respond. Thank you to Robert Brailsford for the photographs.

Downside School's Deputy Head makes his presentation

Downside School represented the UK at the Asia-Europe Foundation Conference last month in Tokyo. Nearly two thousand schools from across Asia, Europe and Oceania applied for a chance to present at the policy-making event, which focussed on Educational Sustainable Development (ESD) and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the classroom.

The event involved round-table discussions with representatives from the Japanese government, NGOs and other charities, looking at the three pillars of sustainable development;environmental, economic and social.

Out campaigning today in Westfield

No formal interviews but Jacob Rees Mogg said he was taking nothing for granted as he stopped for a ham sandwich in the coffee shop of Radco in Radstock . Mr Rees Mogg who is defending a ten thousand majority said every vote counts and he will be out campaigning to the very last moment in the constituency.
