Thatcher + Hallam's William Weller and Lauren Martin

Two members of the specialist Personal Injury team at local solicitors Thatcher + Hallam LLP have been nominated as the shortlisted finalists of one of the legal profession's most prestigious awards. The Personal Injury Awards are aimed at what it describes as 'exceptional claims professionals' and is held every year, attracting applications from the highest profile and heavyweight regional and national law firms.

For the year 2020, William Weller, the Managing Partner at Thatcher + Hallam LLP, has been nominated as a finalist in the Claimant Lawyer of the Year Award, whilst his colleague in the firm's Personal Injury team, Lauren Martin, is one of the finalists in the Young Achiever of the Year Award.

A coronavirus antibody testing kit

A stark warning letter outlining the clear danger of a local lockdown facing Bath and North East Somerset is being sent to all households this week.

Residents will receive the letter from council leader Dine Romero and chief executive Will Godfrey. It urges everyone to to play their part to stop the spread of coronavirus and in so doing avoid local lockdown restrictions.

Writhlington School on October 25

More than 2,500 pupils, who are entitled to free school transport, have been taken safely to and from school this term despite the challenges posed by coronavirus.

Ahead of the new academic year Bath & North East Somerset Council worked with its partners to ensure entitled pupils travel needs were met by its free Home-to-School transport service. As a consequence of detailed planning, it's contracted taxi, minibus and dedicated 'closed-door' coach services have operated daily since the start of term.
