Bath and North East Somerset Council's new Sustainable Transport Chief has visited Peasedown St John.

Cllr Hal MacFie has taken on the Local Authority's new mantel of championing sustainable transport in North East Somerset – the towns and villages outside of the city of Bath.

At the Radstock Town Council meeting councillors were told that they needed to " Get in the game" and make plans for the youth of the town.

Services for the youngsters in the town are going to change as the existing Children's Centre, which hosts Youth Connect sessions is long term going to be put up for sale.

Churches in Peasedown St John, Wellow and Shoscombe are preparing for Harvest this Sunday, due to be celebrated at a number of morning services.

Anglican churches in all three parishes, which make up the St J's Group, will be observing the Christian festival whilst at the same time following the government's coronavirus guidelines.

Bath Central Library will celebrate 30 years of opening on September 28 and a call is going out to residents to share their memories of the library through the decades as part of a virtual celebration.

The libraries team will be posting on social media throughout the 'birthday' with photos through the ages, memories of staff past and present and activities for all ages to enjoy including 30 years of books, a quiz and downloadable bookmarks.

At a busy Radstock Town Council meeting lots of local issues were discussed and a new councillor was elected.

Councillors heard that the Walnut Buildings up at Tynings are now empty, so there is now scope for the housing association Curo to make a decision on how the site could be developed.

Work has officially started on the new health centre in Radstock - as these photos show.
