Churches in the villages of Peasedown St John, Wellow and Foxcote are giving villagers the opportunity to celebrate and remember the lives of loved ones who have passed away.

On All Souls Day, Sunday 1st November, churches will be holding special services where the names of those who have died will be read out and there will also be an opportunity to light a candle for a loved one – along with quiet prayer and personal reflection.

Charlie Bigham is hosting the Bigham's Banquet on Saturday evening with top chefs including Mark Hix and Thomasina Miers.

The countdown is on! The 2020 virtual Wells Food Festival with Charlie Bigham's is going live over the weekend of 10 and 11 October.

There are plenty of local businesses participating in the virtual festival. Simon Collins from Cup of Tea didn't hesitate to get involved. "It's an ideal place to let people know about our huge range of loose tea," he explains before adding, "after all, nothing beats a great cup of tea, especially during these strange and difficult times!"

Local children came out in force to protest at plans to build gas generators just metres from their local primary school.

The children at Welton Primary were joined later by Extinction Rebellion activists protesting at plans, already signed off on, to build a backup gas power station on land between the school and the Midsomer Enterprise Park.

Peasedown St John is continuing to see improvements to its road infrastructure and public realm, thanks to a year-long campaign by the village's Bath & North East Somerset Councillors, Karen Walker and Sarah Bevan.
