The Bath and North East Somerset MP writes:

Last week, a vote was held in Parliament on whether to extend the food voucher provision that the Government delivered throughout the time that schools were closed during lockdown. Calling these vouchers free school meals could leave the wrong impression as no one was proposing that school kitchens provide food during the holidays. The extension was not supported by the majority of Members of Parliament.

Plans to expand Peasedown St John's croquet club have received the backing of the village's Bath & North East Somerset Councillors.

Croquet has been a regular feature of local recreational and sporting life in the community for at least the last decade when the Croquet Club opened in 2012 on the lower grounds of the Peasedown St John Cricket Club.

Anglican Churches in both Peasedown St John and Wellow have released details of Civic events to remember the nation's war heroes in each parish on Sunday 8th November.

Commemorative events across the country are expected to be scaled down due to this year's coronavirus pandemic, but the Vicar of St John's Church in Peasedown and St Julian's Church in Wellow believes it is still important to remember.
